Summer camp info:
Long Island Motion Picture Arts Center & Museum. Ages: Children’s group — grades 3 to 7 and Advance group — grades 8 and older. Fees: Children's group $895 for three weeks beginning July 14; advanced group $1,795 for six weeks beginning July 7. Specialties: A children’s group will learn line animation, stop motion animation, movie special effects and produce a film project. An advanced group learns aspects of filmmaking, including script writing, story boards, film production, film editing and sound mixing. Advanced campers will write, produce and edit their own film projects. Camp provides use of professional motion picture equipment. Note: Campers provide their own transportation.
Summer Theatre Camp: Ages: 9-21. Monday-Friday, July 7-Aug. 1 (July 7 for Pre-Professional programs). Call for fees. Specialties: Summer Music Institute, Musical Theatre Institute, Pre-Professional Orchestral and Symphonic Music Intensive, Advance Film Making Camp. Taught by CAP21 instructors. Our mission at Madison Theatre at Molloy College is to create a versatile, first-class facility that will offer a diverse range of world-class entertainment for the South Shore and greater Long Island region. Situated only 30 minutes from Manhattan, we will strive to be an incubator for creative development for the artistic community while educating and inspiring young performers, writers, and technicians for careers within the entertainment industry. We share in the College’s belief that artistic expression and appreciation is an important part of the development of the full person. The Madison Theatre at Molloy College opened in the late fall of 2011. The 550-seat theatre hosts a variety of world-class performers from the world of theatre, music, dance, cabaret, comedy and more. Molloy’s November 12, 2011 Gala Event opened the theatre and was written by multiple Emmy Award-winner and best-selling author Alan Zweibel, accompanied by an all-star cast and creative team. Madison Theatre’s Artistic Director is the award-winning producer Angelo Fraboni. Mr. Fraboni is an accomplished Broadway performer who has produced and managed a range of Off-Broadway productions and tours.
