This county park in Hewlett has an outdoor roller-skating rink. Bring your own skates or blades. The park has very limited skate rental; if you need skates, call ahead to make sure they're available. Kids can play on the playground and fish in the park lake. Catch and release the lake's carp.
Also an outdoor ice skating rink where lessons are offered in the winter. Two hour public skating sessions are offered as follows: Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.; Friday at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Saturday at 10:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Sunday at 10:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 4 p.m.
35 acres; 4 tennis courts (fee), 4 handball courts, spray pool, shuffleboard, outdoor ice rink (fee), roller skating rink (fee) - available for rental to groups, 3 picnic areas (all with grills), basketball courts, 3 softball/hardball fields (permit), fishing lake (older than 13; license).
