Father's Day: Show us Dad's ugly ties
Why settle for stripes? That's the mantra of men who favor neckties in blinding colors and brash patterns. These are the ties that make a statement -- be it through crazy cartoon characters or rarely seen motifs (think "The Flintstones" tour Washington, D.C.). Such neckwear is fun, memorable, attention-getting -- and yes, their wearers concede, a little tacky.
In honor of Father's Day -- a holiday for which neckties are gifted aplenty -- we asked Long Islanders to break out their wildest ties and share the stories behind them. And the fun continues: Go to exploreLI.com to see more photos of Long Island's loudest ties -- and add your own to our collection.
