Housed in a Gold Coast mansion, some of the biggest-name exhibits on Long Island are displayed here, making it one of the country's largest suburban art museums in attendance. On any pleasant day, you can enjoy the splendid sculpture garden.
The 145-acre property includes the Arnold and Joan Saltzman Fine Art Building, formal gardens, rare specimen trees, grasslands and ponds, eight miles of marked hiking trails, and a sculpture garden featuring more than 50 sculptures.
The Saltzman Fine Art Building, an example of neo-Georgian Gold Coast architecture, features 10 exhibition galleries and a wood-paneled library. Changing and permanent exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and other programs are regularly offered for adults, children and school groups.
