Celebrating the role played by Long Islanders, from the earliest days of flight - most famously Charles Lindbergh's historic flight - to space exploration. Grumman fighter planes are represented here, fittingly because Grumman itself is now history.
Giant screen dome theater, continuous daily shows (call for admission prices for museum and Itheatre). More than 73 air and spacecraft in 60,000 square feet of exhibit space.
Summer camp info: Ages: 9-12, Fees: Call for rates. Specialties: Full five-day (9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.) minicamps. Campers will explore, interact, experiment and create focused on S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math); participants will use the museum's collection of air and spacecraft, Nunley’s Carousel and the JetBlue Theater Planetarium. Camp themes are Space Adventures 1 and Space Adventures 2.
