Celebrating the role played by Long Islanders, from the earliest days of flight - most famously Charles Lindbergh's historic flight - to space exploration. Grumman fighter planes are represented here, fittingly because Grumman itself is now history.
Giant screen dome theater, continuous daily shows (call for admission prices for museum and Itheatre). More than 73 air and spacecraft in 60,000 square feet of exhibit space.
Summer camp info: SPACE and S.T.E.M. Summer Camp for kids ages 9-12. Four one week sessions in July. Fees: $310 per session for members, $340 per session for non-members. Campers will spend each week led by museum educators where they will explore, interact, experiment, and create focused on S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). All participants will be able to utilize the museum’s extensive collection of air and spacecraft, plus the new JetBlue Sky Theater Planetarium as they explore different science themes each week. The camp is led by museum educators from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. from July 8-12. Other weeks this summer include Toys "R" Discovery and Space Adventures.
