Life on Long Island
'Beatlemania' party at Declan Quinn's, Bay Shore
Finding a night dedicated to the '90s or the '80s isn't that challenging these days -- but an evening dedicated to something with '60s flavor is quite the rarity, though not impossible. In fact, one bar has a party ready to roll with sounds that were born decades before a good portion of the usual crowd.
Although many of the regulars at Declan Quinn's in Bay Shore are in their 20s and 30s, on Friday, June 24, the tavern is holding a "Beatlemania" bash. All are asked to don their best 1960s-era clothing -- bell bottoms, tie-dye, hippie clothing, peace symbols and the like -- with a gift certificate set to go to the "grooviest" costume.
As for atmosphere, the shindig with be brought to a proper din by a live performance from Beatles cover band The Liverpool Shuffle. It all starts at 9 p.m. with a $5 cover.
