SEND YOURSELF TO WINE CAMP

It's a sleepaway camp -- for adults. The 4-day, 3-night "wine camp" experience immerses participants in winemaking over a long weekend. Campers bunk at the Ellis House in Southold or Harvest Inn in Peconic and have a rull roster of hands-on classes between daily breakfasts, al fresco vineyard lunches, a dinner at the venerable North Fork Table and a farewell soiree at Castello DiBorghese Vineyard. At $1,299 per person, it's a splurge. Good thing it includes a case of wine (June 20-23 or July 15-18, 631-495-9744, www.winecamp.org). Here, during last year's camp, Paumanok Vineyards owner Charles Massoud explains the growing process. (July 16, 2012)(Credit: Linda Delmonico Prussen)
