Despite lacking a movie theater and food court, staples at most shopping malls, Walt Whitman's clear draw is the department stores, namely Bloomingdale's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's and Lord & Taylor.
Although most of the shops are the same as those at every other mall -- Gap, Banana Republic, J. Crew, Victoria's Secret -- there are a few hard to find on Long Island stores like Madewell and Francesca's Collections.
There's a Starbucks in the center of the mall and a California Pizza Kitchen, Legal Sea Foods, Cheesecake Factory, Panera (around the corner) and McDonald's.
