Kardashians to launch tanning line at Ulta, baby products may be next
Say what you want about Kim, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian, but the reality TV sisters have that sun-kissed glow down pat.
"When I travel, the one thing that makes me feel alive whether or not I have makeup on is a tan, especially in my face," Kim told Women's Wear Daily. When you travel, you can’t just go lay out."
Kim, who has psoriasis and has been known to take her skin care regimen to the next level (she recently made headlines when she underwent a "vampire" facial using her own blood), said tanning naturally helps her skin, but she wanted an even sunless tanning system that would fit in with her busy schedule. Thus, the Kardashian Sunkissed self-tanning line was born.
“[We] came up with something that is still good for your skin and healthy for you; everything is paraben- and sulfate-free,” said Kourtney, whose health obsession has seen plenty of airtime on "Kourtney and Kim Take Miami." “We love beauty and fashion, but making sure we’re taking care of our bodies is crucial to us.”
The products will be sold exclusively by Ulta in April, WWD reports, and will cost between $12.99 and $19.99. They work in steps: First a body exfoliator or color maximizer, then an instant sunless lotion or spray, and last a tan extender with bronzers. The bronzer continues to darken the skin after the sunless lotion or spray is applied, Kim says.
Kardashian Sunkissed is the sisters' first step into skin care, but they're no strangers to the fashion world, growing an empire that includes Dash and Kardashian Khaos stores and the Kardashian Kollection for Sears. Even little sisters Kendall and Kylie have a collection out for PacSun.
But what's next for the reality stars turned business moguls? Possibly a line of children's products, Kourtney, a mom of two, says in the interview. Now that Kim also has a baby on the way with boyfriend Kanye West, a collaboration could be in the cards.
