4 new fragrances to try
After the stock market crash of 1929, couturier Jean Patou found his clients could not afford his pricey clothes. So he created the iconic fragrance Joy. Now there's an updated scent, Joy Forever -- similar notes of rose and jasmine but with "a modern twist," $110-$190; at select Bloomingdale's and Nordstroms.
Not sure smelling like a pizza is all that romantic, but the folks at Demeter Fragrance Library are giving it a shot. If you want to smell like tomato sauce, mozzarella and oregano, it comes in cologne, body lotion, shower gel and body oil, $6 to $39.50; at select Walgreens and demeterfragrance.com.
Splash on a new fragrance from Desigual -- either Sex (with seductive hints of grapefruit), Fun (ripe passion fruit) or Love (delicate praline) -- or mix and match, $44 to $79; at the Desigual store at 358 Fifth Ave., Manhattan.
XOXO's new Luv -- its bottle like a sleek, feminine silhouette -- offers a fruity-floral zazz of grapefruit, juicy mango, jasmine, then a grounding in earthy musk, cedar, amber, $35 to $55; at Perfumania shops, perfumania.com.
