Little Lucy's Canine Couture Boutique
91 Jobs Lane Southampton, NY 631-287-2352
Patricia Hurley owns this packed boutique, named after her rescued poodle-bichon frisé mix, which she says is "probably the tiniest store in Southampton" - it's only about 7 feet wide and 30 feet long. It has "everything for dogs," she says.
She carries clothes for canines - "people need it for parties, they want their dogs to look cute" - including silk dresses for $58-$68 and tuxedos for the male dogs. Her collars, such as those decorated with freshwater pearls or Swarovski crystals, can range from $85 to $250. A huge five-strand crystal collar "could fit around a woman's waist," she says.
Hurley also carries costumes, including "little Santa hats and reindeer hats," as well as organic shampoos from Bobbi Panter, such as Stinky Dog and Itchy Dog, for about $18. She has ID tags, from about $20-$24, with skulls or bones or crowns, as well as bows "that don't hurt the dog's hair" for $4 to $6.95.
