More and more retailers are opening earlier and earlier for the traditional Black Friday kickoff of the holiday shopping season.  This year, several big retailers are opening Thanksgiving evening, as early as 8 p.m.

Some hard core shoppers have even been known to eat their turkey while waiting in line to be among the first into a store to snag the best sales.

But a few retailers, notably P.C. Richard & Son on Long Island, maintain that it's disrespectful to employees and their families to open on the holiday.

Which camp do you fall into? Will you be part of the Thanksgiving / Black Friday shopping stampede, or do you prefer to spend the holiday at home?

Vote and leave a comment; results and a selection of comments will appear in next Sunday's business section.
