Where to find cupcakes
Newsday photo / Audrey C. Tiernan
Cupcakes stand alone, but in seemingly endless size and variety.
Starting with the classic vanilla with chocolate frosting, these Long Island boutique bakeries are reinvigorating the cupcake, adding popular candies inside and out and creating cupcakes from more traditional desserts like red-velvet cake, rainbow cookies and waffle cones.
When not re-inventing the cupcake wheel, other listed spots specialize in bulk cupcake orders for weddings. The cupcakes can be served on a platter or displayed on several cake tiers in a soaring tower. Couples can customize the designs, flavors and coors to coordinate with their wedding theme.
When you crave a ready-to-eat treat, these places are ready to help.
