Thanksgiving, the most homey of holidays, isn't always enjoyed at home. That's especially so this year, following the upheaval and ongoing rebuilding after superstorm Sandy.

Many L.I. restaurants will serve traditional, and not-so-traditional, Thanksgiving meals. Here's a sampler of places to go. Call ahead to reserve.

NASSAU

ANDIAMO in Mineola plans a three-course, fixed-price dinner for $34.95 a person, served noon to 10 p.m. It includes a choice of butternut squash bisque or green salad, oven-roasted turkey with rosemary stuffing, cranberry compote and glazed sweet potatoes, and a dessert sampler with pumpkin cheesecake, "molten" chocolate cake, and a caramelized Cognac apple purse. CHADWICKS AT THE STATION in Rockville Centre will serve Thanksgiving a la carte from 2 to 7 p.m. Chef Art Gustafson's starters are both traditional (butternut squash soup, $7) and eclectic (tandoori flatbread, $8). A brined and roasted turkey ($25) comes with dried cranberry-orange compote, sausage-apple-walnut stuffing, Yukon Gold potato puree, whipped candied sweet potatoes and an autumn vegetable medley. Other entrees: prime rib ($32) and gemelli with lobster ($26). Several dessert choices, among them chocolate tart, pumpkin cheesecake and upside-down apple tart ($8 each). HEMINGWAY'S AMERICAN BAR & GRILL in Wantagh staggers seatings between 1 and 5:30 p.m. One way to go is with the three-course traditional roast turkey prix-fixe, at $32.95 a person, which includes soup or salad, roasted turkey with stuffing, cranberry sauce, mixed vegetables, sweet and mashed potatoes, followed by dessert. There's also an a la carte menu featuring such mains as roast turkey ($21.95), pumpkin ravioli ($17.95) and pork osso buco ($19.95). MITCH & TONI'S in Albertson will serve a three-course fixed-priced dinner from 1 to 8 p.m., $54 for adults, $22 for children 12 and younger. Among starters: shrimp cocktail, roasted squash soup with duck confit and pumpkin ravioli. Mains include roast turkey with chorizo-chestnut stuffing and fork-smashed rutabaga; roasted venison with wild rice, pumpkin pudding, huckleberries. THOM THOM in Wantagh prepares a $39.95 fixed-price dinner, available from 1 to 8 p.m. Openers include cream of leek-and-potato soup, a lobster-salad sushi roll, portobello mushroom with braised short rib and Gorgonzola cheese, and baked clams. Main courses: roasted turkey with trimmings, braised lamb osso buco, roasted Black Angus prime rib, pan-seared Scottish salmon, and a sushi roll combo. DARK HORSE in Riverhead offers a $29-a-person Thanksgiving dinner. Dishes include butternut squash-apple-and-pear bisque, boned turkey rolled with sweet onion, sage and cranberry; bourbon-pecan-cornbread stuffing, mashed Yukon Gold potatoes, roasted vegetables, apple pie, pumpkin pie and cinnamon-walnut pound cake. JEDEDIAH HAWKINS INN in Jamesport will have a $65 fixed-price dinner; $95 with wine pairing; and $30 for children younger than 10, served from noon to 6 p.m. The menu includes five-spice pumpkin bisque with chive crème fraîche; Montauk pearl oyster stew; Satur Farms chicory salad with dried cranberries, toasted almonds and blue cheese; roasted local beets with Catapano Dairy goat cheese; roasted heritage turkey; bone-in strip steak; almond-crusted Atlantic halibut; mashed potatoes; sweet potatoes Lyonnaise, cauliflower gratinee, roasted Brussels sprouts; flourless chocolate cake, spiced pumpkin cake, apple pie. MIRABELLE at the Three Village Inn in Stony Brook unveils a buffet, $50 for adults, children 12 or younger, $25, plus tax and tip. The buffet includes smoked fish, shrimp cocktail, cheese and charcuterie, lobster bisque, creamy pumpkin soup, salads, turkey with pan gravy, herb-stuffed rack of lamb, prime rib, rack of Berkshire pork, puff-pastry-wrapped halibut, baked macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, cornbread-chestnut stuffing, oysters Rockefeller, holiday pies, cakes and cookies. TOPPING ROSE HOUSE in Bridgehampton features a $125 fixed-price dinner, plus tax and tip, served from noon to 6p.m. Appetizers include carrot risotto, autumn vegetable ragout, and torchon of foie gras; second-course pastas such as bucatini with clams and chilies and paccheri with duck Bolognese, third course of organic turkey, dry-aged rib-eye steak or black sea bass. VITTORIO'S in Amityville will be serving its regular dinner menu in addition to a number of Thanksgiving specials, from noon to 10 p.m. Entrees include turkey with cornbread stuffing, giblet gravy, broccoli and cranberry sauce ($24), crab-stuffed salmon ($28) and herb-roasted prime rib ($28 for 10 ounces, $34 for 20 ounces). Sides for the table ($9, serves two or three) include truffled mac and cheese, pancetta-braised Brussels sprouts, candied yams and green beans with crispy shallots, butternut squash gratin and chipped, baked or roasted potatoes. Desserts ($8 to $9) include pumpkin and apple pie, tiramisu. Twenty percent of the evening's proceeds will be donated to local Sandy relief efforts.
