Katerina Langis counts her blessings. Her family’s Long Beach restaurant, Diner by the Sea, was flooded by superstorm Sandy, but the losses were limited to all of the food and a few refrigerators. Jedediah Hawkins Inn, the Jamesport landmark, is closed until March 15.

A recorded message at the inn cited the closing is for "repairs," but gave no details.

Earlier today, the Inn tweeted "We are closed until March 15. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hope to see you then."

It's been several months since Attilio’s Grill relocated from a long-held Smithtown address to the digs of the former Bella Vita City Grill in St. James. Massimo Fedozzi, executive chef at Vero Italian Kitchen & Lounge in Amityville, has left the restaurant. Joseph Rosselli, who had been Fedozzi’s sous chef, has been promoted, according to Vero’s owner, Michael Esposito.
