Wild Honey has a sweet spot at the corner of South Street and East Main in Oyster Bay. And diners who'd like some alfresco with dinner find a pleasant perch there.

It's a warm-weather scene these days, befitting the address that once housed the summer offices of President Theodore Roosevelt.

Wild Honey is a popular local hangout, where the food and the wine are fine, with service to match.

Keep seasonal with a Caribbean fish taco, a grilled flour tortilla heaped with red snapper and mango slaw, with an undercurrent of heat. The house's crab-and-lobster meatballs also are tasty, in a chiffonade of spinach, finished in a white wine-and-grape tomato sauce.

Try the tender, slow-cooked baby back ribs, flanked by slaw and cubes of very sweet sweet potato. A special of mango-and-dark rum glazed halibut, with yellow rice and beans plus a saute of kale and red peppers, is a flavorful choice, too.

In full, the restaurant is Wild Honey Dining and Wine. And every Wednesday, all bottles are half-price. Uncork one.
