Massimo Fedozzi, executive chef at Vero Italian Kitchen & Lounge in Amityville, has left the restaurant. Joseph Rosselli, who had been Fedozzi’s sous chef, has been promoted, according to Vero’s owner, Michael Esposito.
Fedozzi’s Italian small plates earned Vero 3½ stars from Peter Gianotti when it opened in December 2010. Five months later, fire shuttered the restaurant. When it reopened last October, with a more traditional menu, Fedozzi again earned 3½ stars. Esposito said that chef Rosselli was not radically changing the concept. “The cheese and salumi plates will stay the same, some of the pasta entrees will change as chef Joe adds his personal flair.”
Vero is at 192 Broadway, Amityville, 631-608-4340.
