We say:A reproduction of a red English phone booth guards the entryway of this gastro pub, signaling the presence of such British classics as fish and chips and shepherd's pie.

At The Good Life, a Massapequa Park British gastro pub, you can kick back and enjoy your good fortune with classics like fish and chips and shepherd's pie. Newsday's Joan Reminick rates the place with two stars, and says that American fusion spins on the menu, like chicken-lemongrass pot stickers, cover  "a lot of territory, most of it with elan.''

Headed out to the Hamptons International Film Festival this weekend? If you can, try to snare a table at the venerable Nick & Toni's in East Hampton. Newsday critic Peter M. Gianotti says chef Joseph Realmuto easily earns his three stars and recommends you start the meal with "a lustrous East End fluke crudo.'' It only gets better from there.
