When Lisa Basini assumed the mantle of “the Baking Coach” in 2005, her mission was to teach people to bake in their own homes. She still organizes custom-designed classes all over Long Island but also teaches workshops at Baking Coach Headquarters in Huntington.

Seasonal classes include apple pie (Oct. 5), Halloween treats (Oct. 19), holiday cookie workshop (Dec. 7) and gingerbread houses (Dec. 14). Among the Baking Coach’s dozens of general classes are cake decorating, working with fondant, creative cupcakes, gourmet cookies and cake pops. Two-hour classes are $55; six-hour workshops are $99. Go to bakingcoach.com for a full schedule.

The Baking Coach is at 320 Broadway-Greenlawn Rd., Huntington, 631-543-8608.
