A recent lunch at the new Ten Ten Asian Sushi Bistro in Mount Sinai made for a pleasant interlude during a madly busy day.

Hoping to get an overview of the restaurant’s capabilities, I ordered a lunch bento box — actually, not a box but, rather, a compartmentalized plate. To start, I was served wonton soup with light, lovely dumplings stuffed with a mix of shrimp and pork. These, I learned, had been made on premises. On the bento plate: moist grilled salmon teriyaki, four pieces of a well-crafted salmon roll (which I asked to have substituted for tuna roll); gyoza, or pork dumplings, which, while not house-made, were very good; plus a bright salad topped with shredded mango whose lime dressing was a bit too sweet. Overall, a fine assortment for just $11.
