Aug. 31 is National Bacon Day. As if anyone needed an excuse to order a dish made with  crispy, salty and altogether irresistible strips of pig meat.

Here are three bacon-enhanced dishes we’re particularly partial to:

The smoky bacon-topped baked clams ($7.95) at KB's Burger Shack in Patchogue.

The big, beefy oozy namesake burger ($11) at The Good Life in Massapequa Park. It’s topped with blue cheese, Cheddar, and bacon jam, which is made by deeply caramelizing onions with bacon.

The luxe BLT ($20) at Silver’s in Southampton, made with chargrilled Tuscan bread, a mountain of bacon, bright romaine and sweet crimson tomatoes and finished with Hellmann's Extra Heavy Mayonnaise and chopped parsley.
