Yevma Authentic Greek Cuisine has opened in the newly remodeled East Meadow digs of the former Gyrolicious.

In charge of the kitchen is chef Peter Mesaris, who hails from Greece, where he was executive chef for a catering concern. In the New York area, he cooked at Esperides in Astoria and at Estia in Manhattan.

His repertoire includes house-made gyro (beef-and-lamb as well as chicken, at $7.95 for a sandwich), as well as kalamakia, skewered grilled pork, chicken or lamb ($5.95-$8.95). The menu lists two authentic Greek specialties that are available only Thursday to Sunday: kokoretsi ($16.95), or slow-roasted lamb intestines, and kontosouvli, slow-roasted skewered pork ($15.95).

Other intriguing choices include panseta, or thick grilled bacon dipped in lemon-thyme-honey sauce ($9.95), dako  ($9.95), a salad made with barley wheat rusks and, additionally, rotisserie chicken ($15.95).

The restaurant has a mini-market on premises.

Yevma Authentic Greek Cuisine is at 2065 Hempstead Tpke., East Meadow, 516-280-2208, yevma.com.
