Monsoon, Babylon: Chinese new year, $35 special
Monsoon, Newsday's top-ranked fine-dining restaurant of 2012, celebrates the Chinese lunar new year with a $35 fixed-price menu on Saturday and Sunday.
The Year-of-the-Snake special will be available after 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9; and from 5 p.m. to closing on Sunday, Feb. 10.
Chef Michael Wilson's menu includes any appetizer and main dish from the Asian restaurant's regular menu and house-made ice cream. Sushi appetizers carry a $5 supplement. And the house's Beijing duck, Long Island's best, must be ordered as an entree for two diners.
Monsoon, which earned a four-star rating last year, also will have traditional Chinese lion dancing on Feb. 9 and Feb. 10.
