Makeover time for Grillfire in Rockville Centre
George Martin’s Grillfire in Rockville Centre is about to undergo a makeover. The place will close on Sunday, Oct. 27, and is slated to reopen the following Saturday, Nov. 1.
George Korten, president of the George Martin Restaurant Group, said that the redesigned place will be more streamlined and sophisticated and will feature such natural elements as weathered wood and stone. The menu, too, is being tweaked to differentiate it from the new GM Burger Bar, also in Rockville Centre. New items include an 8-ounce filet mignon ($29) and a grilled flatbread with baby spinach, goat cheese and marinated tomatoes ($11).
Both dishes are available at the George Martin’s Grillfire in Merrick, which remains open and is at 33 W. Sunrise Hwy., Merrick, 516-945-9001.
George Martin’s Grillfire is at 13 N. Park Ave., Rockville Centre, 516-678-1290, georgemartinsgrillfire.com.
