Lucharito’s, a Mexican restaurant with a “luchidor” (Mexican wrestler) theme, came into being this past December. As owner Mark LaMaina tells it, the place was born after his previous enterprise, Butta Cakes — a cupcake cafe with breakfast, lunch and, on weekends, dinner — was virtually destroyed by superstorm Sandy.

The new incarnation features table service as well as a beer and wine menu. In March, said La Maina, he expects Lucharito's to have a full liquor license and offer about 25 different tequilas.

On the moderately priced menu: roasted pork tacos ($3.50), a “shrimprito” burrito filled with cilantro lime shrimp ($9.25) and “demon de pollo” nachos topped with adobo marinated pulled chicken plus the works.

Lucharito’s is at 119 Main St., Greenport, 631-477-6666.
