Long Island restaurants open Christmas Day

While the majority of Long Island restaurants won’t be stirring Christmas Day, many will — and in more ways than one. We give you 10, covering a wide swath of territory, both in geography and cuisine.

NASSAU COUNTY

MORRISON’S, 430 Woodbury Rd., Plainview, 516-932-8460

From 2 to 10 p.m., this new gastropub will be serving its regular dinner repertoire, ranging from burnt Brussels sprouts to pecan crusted chicken. $$-$$$

SMOKIN’ AL’S FAMOUS BBQ, 4847 Merrick Rd., Massapequa Park, 516-799-4900

Slow-smoked ribs, chicken and pulled pork are just some of the menu items at this popular BBQ spot, open from 1 to 10 p.m. $$

BURTON & DOYLE STEAKHOUSE, 661 Northern Blvd., Great Neck, 516-487-9200

The traditional steakhouse menu at this clubby-looking restaurant will be supplemented by some holiday entree specials, available 1 to 9 p.m. $$$

WEST EAST ALL NATURAL BISTRO & BAR, 758 S Broadway, Hicksville, 516-939-6618

At this Asian-American restaurant, a five-course prix-fixe will be served family style ($35 a person; $50 with wine). Or order anything from the regular a la carte menu. Serving from 1 to 9:30 p.m. $$$

ERIC’S ITALIAN BISTRO, 70 E. Old Country Rd., Mineola, 516-280-5675

Chef-owner George Echeverria’s well-appointed ristorante will offer its regular menu of Italian and New American specialties. Also, a few daily specials. $$-$$$

This casual New American place will serve its regular bill of fare, as well as $24.95 three-course prix-fixe option covering most everything on the menu (a few items carry a surcharge). Dine from 4 to 10 p.m. $$

BANGKOK PAVILION, 25 Main St., Kings Park, 631-269-4961

Red curries and green curries say Christmas at this Thai newcomer offering its regular menus; lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; dinner from 4:30 to 10 p.m . $$

CURRY CLUB, 10 Woods Corner Rd, East Setauket, 631-751-4845

Chicken tikka masala, garlic nan and a host of other Indian specialties are choices you’ll find on the regular dinner menu of this long-standing Indian restaurant. There’s also a lunch buffet, served 11:30 to 3 p.m. $$

Dips and kebabs with freshly baked bread are part of the regular repertoire at the original Turkish-Mediterranean restaurant in Centereach as well as its new St. James spinoff. $$
