In this week’s Newsday, Joan Reminick reviews Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas in Garden City’s Gallery at Westbury Plaza. A wide selection of wines (by the bottle, glass and even a few on tap) is accompanied by a small-plates menu ranging from cheese and cured meats to pizzas, “compelling” bruschettas, pastas and salads and “tender, delectable grilled marinated lamb chops.”

Peter M. Gianotti visits Nissos, the newest resident of the Syosset address whose previous tenants have included Toast & Tapas, 516 American Kitchen & Bar, Pomodorino and Umi. “Dressed in bright white and Aegean blue, Nissos’ tailored image is inspired by almost every travel brochure for Greece,” he writes, but food and, especially, service lag behind the decor.
