In this week’s Newsday, Peter Gianotti reviews the latest incarnation of Jedediah Hawkins Inn in Jamesport. The restaurant opened seven years ago and in that time has had almost as many executive chefs. Lia Fallon, formerly of Amarelle in Wading River, “is even better here, brightening spring and summer with food of the moment and the East End.” Her “fare lets you know the time of year as readily as the calendar, the location as clearly as a GPS” and earns a rare 3½ stars.

Joan Reminick reviews Gyrolicious. The Jericho outpost of the East Meadow original is the rare Greek restaurant that makes its own gyro meat.
