Long Island Ice Cream Tour: June 15
How much ice cream could you eat in eight hours? Find out by taking part in the Long Island Ice Cream Tour this Saturday, June 15.
Jeff Noreman of Plainview and Derek Steen, a friend from Buffalo, conceived of this daylong extravaganza in 2011. Last year, the group visited nine ice cream parlors from Riverhead to Valley Stream. This year the tour includes two new ice cream shops, The New York Stuffed Cone Co. in St. James and Pazzo Gelato in Garden City Park.
The tour starts at 10 a.m. at Snowflake Ice Cream Shoppe (1148 W. Main St., Riverhead), but you are welcome to join in at any point. Consult the Long Island Ice Cream Tour page on Facebook or follow @liictour on Twitter to get real-time updates on the group’s whereabouts. The goal is to reach Hildebrandt’s (84 Hillside Ave., Williston Park) by 7 p.m. for dinner. Another goal is to actually be able to eat dinner.
