Joe's Crab Shack cracks open in Riverhead
Joe’s Crab Shack, a Houston-based seafood chain, just opened in Riverhead, taking over the former home of Boulder Creek Steakhouse. This follows last winter’s entrance of a Joe’s Crab Shack in Oceanside.
On the menu: a bucket of shrimp with Old Bay seasoning (12 for $8.59 or 18 for $11.49), blackened redfish ($13.99), a chipotle bacon cheeseburger ($9.89) a bucket of crab — choose among snow crab, queen crab, Pacific Dungeness crab and arctic king crab ($21.99 to $31.99) and a variety of seafood steampots ($23.99 to $99 for four).
The place offers seating for around 300, with garage doors that open in good weather to allow the outdoors in.
Joe’s Crab Shack is at 1490 Old Country Rd., Riverhead, 631-727-2783, joescrabshack.com.
