Matt Murphy takes over as head chef for Jellyfish in Centerport — this, following the departure of former executive chef James McDevitt.

Some of you may remember Murphy as chef-owner of the now-departed Antares in Greenport, as well as executive chef of the former Jedediah’s in Jamesport. He also cooked at La Colombe d’Or and March in Manhattan, the latter formerly owned by Jellyfish’s new general manager, Joseph Scalice. His is another name that may ring a bell with Long Islanders, since Scalice was director of operations for a number of properties belonging to the Singh Hospitality Group, among them the Woodlands and the Delano Mansion in Woodbury and Thom Thom in Wantagh.

The menu, Scalice said, will be pretty much the same as before, with a few twists from Murphy. Options range from casual to fine dining.

Jellyfish is at 441 E. Main St., Centerport, 631-262-0300.
