Less than a week after she received a glowing 3½-star review in Newsday, executive chef Lia Fallon has left Jedediah Hawkins Inn in Jamesport, according to a message she posted on her Facebook page.

The restaurant at the gracious Victorian inn has had a revolving door since it opened in 2006. Tom Schaudel was the original chef; he left in 2008 and was followed by Matt Murphy, Steven Lewis, Keith Luce and Alex Algieri. Fallon, formerly of Amarelle in Wading River, took over the kitchen in March.

According to inn manager Colin Keillor, Jedediah's new executive chef is Richard Kanowsky, formerly chef de cuisine at La Plage in Wading River and, since 2009, executive chef of Kanobley Catering in Patchogue.

If you’re counting, that makes seven chefs in seven years.

With an elegant formal dining room, a glassed-in patio and tables on the inn's porch and courtyard, Jedediah is one of the loveliest restaurants on Long Island. Despite its checkered chef history, the kitchen has maintained a fairly high level of seasonal, New American cuisine since it opened.

Jedediah Hawkins Inn is at 400 S. Jamesport Ave., Jamesport, 631-722-2900, jedediahhawkinsinn.com.
