James McDevitt, profiled as a Newsday All-Star Chef back in 2009, has left Jellyfish. The Centerport restaurant opened in October 2012.
McDevitt, whose Long Island credentials include the former Two Steak & Sushi Den, as well as K. Pacho in New Hyde Park and Four Food Studio in Melville, said he will be corporate executive chef for ESquared Hospitality, whose BLT Steak on 57th Street in
Manhattan is the flagship of a restaurant group that includes 22 restaurants in the U.S. and in Hong Kong.
McDevitt’s wife, Stacey, who has been pastry chef at Jellyfish since its opening last year, will remain there through Valentine’s Day.
McDevitt's replacement at Jellyfish has not been named yet.
