Hudson House in Farmingdale closes
Photo credit: Photo by | This is the road work being done on New Highway in East Farmingdale, impeding access to the new Hudson House.
Hudson House on New Highway in Farmingdale, just north of Republic Airport, which began life in March as a snappy new bistro, barely made it to the half-year mark.
The restaurant was blighted from the outset by roadwork that made it almost inaccessible. The construction continued throughout the spring and during most of the summer.
When I first visited Hudson House, shortly after its opening, salads were fresh and vibrant, fries hand-cut. About two months later, the entire operation had taken a nosedive. The original crew had departed, the dining room looked dingy, and food tasted as though it had come from a can, jar or freezer.
