Farewell to FeelGoods Cafe, St. James
FeelGoods, Kathy Gerdes and Nicole Lawrence’s friendly little health-conscious cafe, has closed. Earlier this week the women posted on their Facebook page that after a lot of “business soul-searching,” it became clear that “closing is the difficult but necessary move.”
Last March, the cafe's signature item, the vegetarian EdgyBurger, took first place in the new-product competition at the New York Restaurant & Foodservice Show at the Javits Center. A few months later, Lawrence and Gerdes began selling the burger online and in the fall they renamed the cafe FeelGoods EdgyBurger Bar.
For the moment, the EdgyBurger is on hiatus, but the women are looking for a way to resume production and sales. Updates will be posted at www.facebook.com/edgyburger.
