A couple of  Long Island restaurants are offering discounts in the wake of Sandy.

J. Michaels Tuscan Steakhouse (688 Fort Salonga Rd., Northport; 631-651-9411) is currently taking 10 percent off all checks. Although the restaurant used to serve dinner only, chef co-owner Vincent Michaels just launched a lunch menu, priced $20 to $25, that includes a cup of soup or salad plus an entree — such as short ribs Barolo over mashed potatoes and chicken Marsala. “It’s to give people a warm place to stay with a fireplace going, so they can use their laptops, computers, Wi-Fi and recharge cellphones,” Michaels said.

And Thom Thom , (3340 Park Ave., Wantagh, 516-221-8022) is offering a 10 percent discount off the entire check for anyone who doesn’t have power. The offer isn’t valid for prix-fixe dinners and can’t be combined with any other promotions.
