If you plan to check out the Huntington art scene this weekend, you should expect the gallery-hopping to get your appetite going. Here, then, are five places to eat, each with its own brand of artistic appeal.

In the rear of a cheese shop is a dining space lined with colorful paintings. Debate the influence of Cezanne as you sip wine and nibble on cheese and cured meats; share some interesting small plates, like zucchini “spaghetti” with basil, pine nuts and ricotta.

This bi-level Mexican restaurant is named for an Aztec deity (whose name means “snake with beautiful feathers”) depicted on some walls. There are also colorful murals by local artists and such authentic dishes as birria, a lamb stew, and pipian de pollo, chicken with pumpkin seeds.

With a crimson Left Bank-style facade, Art Nouveau posters and marble-topped tables, this popular bistro emanates Parisian charm — and serves reliably good Gallic fare. Dine on roasted chicken for two, walnut-crusted rack of lamb, onion soup gratinée and mussels steamed with Pernod. Chocolate mousse? Mais oui.

Hard surfaces, geometric shapes and dramatic lighting define the interior of this Japanese restaurant. From the sushi bar come artful rolls like the twister, with white tuna and spicy lobster. There’s yellowtail jalapeño accented with yuzu-lime zest and, from the kitchen, a zesty duck salad and tender filet mignon spiked with Thai basil.

Sponge-painted surfaces, sunny hues, copper pots and colorful ceramics define this stylish country Italian restaurant. So, too, do specialties such as baked artichokes, fettuccine with veal meatballs and linguine with clam sauce.
