Roe’s Casa Dolce, a Rockville Centre bakery-cafe that used to serve dinner to a devoted following, is now offering only breakfast and lunch. That’s because former owner Rosemarie Caruso recently sold the place, moving on to open a cafe on Staten Island.

The good news for Long Islanders is that the new owner is head baker George Rivera, who continues to serve breakfast (dishes like Italian bread French toast, omelets and pancakes) and lunch (wraps, panini, burgers). I still recall his sensational chocolate bombe and Key lime pie from a pasta night dinner I had last year at Roe's.

A “grand reopening” week filled with specials will run from August 29 to September 6.

Roe’s Casa Dolce is at 486 Sunrise Hwy., Rockville Centre, 516-536-2253. While their website is not yet up, you can e-mail them at casadolcebakery@yahoo.com
