Cavaniola’s opens a Greenport branch
Michael and Tracey Cavaniola preside over a little gastronomic empire that also includes a cheese store, takeout shop and wine cellar in Sag Harbor and a Manhattan branch in TriBeCa. The Greenport store opened on April 10.
Tracey Cavaniola said that she and her husband noted that Greenport had a lot in common with Sag Harbor. “Both towns have lots of people out on boats, entertaining at home and a need for quality cheese, bread and meats. We wanted to service that need.”
Vines & Branches is a big, airy store with a cafe and a lovely patio. For the first time, Cavaniola customers will be able to eat in as well as take out. In addition to cheese and other “gourmet” items, Cavaniola’s is also selling signature prepared foods such as macaroni and cheese, crabcakes, meatloaf (all are $10, with side salad), panini ($8 to $11), coconut cake and other sweets.
