Cafe Taka, the small and satisfying Turkish eatery that opened in Bay Shore last year, joins the ranks of the departed. The place received a two-star Newsday rating in May of 2011.
Seating was tight and on some nights chef-owner Mike Sarac did double duty as waiter. Recalled from Sarac’s culinary repertoire: comforting zucchini pancakes, vibrant lentil soup and juicy grilled chicken chops.
