Today marks the launch of BlonDee’s Bistro & Bar, the 2013 remake of the former Two Blondes & a Stove.
Owner Dena Fenza said the place — which used to offer only breakfast and lunch — now serves a dinner menu of small plates and entrees Wednesday to Sunday nights. At 5 p.m., a whole new mood is set with candlelight and cloth napkins. There’s also a full bar. Some nights, live music, too.
Earlier in the day, the original menus prevail. If you go at breakfast, you can opt for baked oatmeal ($6), croissant French toast ($9) or the “Giambotta” scramble of eggs, potatoes, zucchini, peppers and onions ($9.95). At lunch, there are chicken lettuce wraps ($9.95), a Greek salad ($9.95) and a “Philly” sandwich of roast beef and melted mozzarella ($10.25)
Come nightfall, chef Michael Hansen features such “tapas” choices as a pizzette with roasted pears, Gorgonzola, Brie and mozzarella topped with arugula and balsamic glaze ($11) and lamb chop lollipops ($13), as well such entrees as filet mignon “royale” topped with poached egg and fried asparagus ($28) and boneless chicken breast with sausage, potatoes, peppers, onions and mushrooms ($17). Finish with house-made pannacotta and seasonal berries ($8).
BlonDee’s Bistro & Bar is at 26 Clinton Ave., Huntington, 631-673-1300.
