All-star chefs' dinner benefit in Bridgehampton
The ninth annual chefs' dinner to benefit the Hayground School's Jeff's Kitchen and the Jeff Salaway Scholarship Fund is slated for July 28.
This dinner is the main fundraiser for the Hayground School, an independent alternative school that was co-founded by Salaway, the late restaurateur best know for Nick & Toni's in East Hampton. Jeff's Kitchen offers classes in nutrition, food science and cooking.
Among the chefs scheduled to participate are Claudia Fleming of The North Fork Table & Inn in Southold, Joe Realmuto of Nick & Toni's, Jason Weiner of Almond in Bridgehampton and Christian Mir of Stone Creek Inn in East Quogue.
The benefit will be held at Hayground, 151 Mitchell Lane, Bridgehampton., starting at 5:30 p.m. A dinner honoring Eric Ripert, chef of Le Bernardin in Manhattan, will take place at the home of Toni Ross, who was married to Salaway.
The cost for the meet-the-chefs cocktail party is $175. Tickets for the dinner and cocktail party are $1,000. Children's tickets are $40. Tickets may be bought online at http://www.greatchefsdinner.com.
