In our ongoing search for eateries that deliver big flavors at small prices, here are three that get the ratio right.

Joe Bui opened his Vietnamese restaurant this summer in a sliver of a Farmingdale storefront. He offers several variations on the rich noodle soup called pho (pronounced "fuh"), as well as a classic banh mi sandwich and "bun," hearty one-bowl entrees featuring marinated grilled meat, poultry or fish over rice noodles. $-$$

Isaac Asare and Gloria Yeboah serve the food of their native Ghana in a converted pizzeria. Asare will give you free tastes, then guide you in ordering. Standouts include amala (cassava dumpling) with spicy pepper soup, meat pie and yam with turkey pepper. $-$$

This bare-bones counter-service taqueria has delicate, delectable house-made tortillas stuffed with carefully prepared fillings. Try the excellent pork tongue, which comes topped with cilantro and chopped onion. Hot sauces are offered on the side. $

This corner restaurant in New Hyde Park offers  Indian/ Pakistani/ Bangladeshi fare with table service and takeout. Though the ambience is lacking, it is made up for in kind service and delicious, quality dishes. $
