Tiger Woods got through his first nine holes of practice at Firestone Country Club with no problems. His left leg seemed to give him no problems, walking or swinging. It was hard to draw any conclusions from his play. His tee shots went left, but not wild enough to go into the trees.

He announced on his website Thursday that he will play in the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. It will be his first competition since May 12, when he withdrew from The Players with what were diagnosed as knee and Achilles injuries.
