ABOUT THE FARM This organic farm, owned by Eve and Chris Kaplan-Walbrecht, is well-known for its garlic varieties and annual Garlic Festival. While it doesn't affect one's share price, members can come and volunteer at the farm. "We make things hands-on so people who volunteer can see highlights of the farm," Eve Kaplan-Walbrecht says of Riverhead. "We'll collect eggs, pick greens and eat them in the field. We want them to get a sense of the diversity that is available. Kids are great because they'll eat everything when they're out there, and the parents are always so shocked. We want to get people back in the mindset of trying new things."

Pumpkins 69 cents a pound, organic and nonorganic, some grown on the farm, others trucked to field.

Also Has Fun path ($10, weekends and holidays) includes a cart track ride, pony ride, hayride and bounce house visit; farm stand open daily.
