Weekend family fun on Long Island: Wizard of Oz, Dr. Seuss, Hercules and more
Looking for things to do with the kids this weekend? From celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday to enjoying "The Wizard of Oz," Snow White, Hercules and more, you can find plenty of activities happening on Long Island. Here are my top five picks for family-friendly activities this weekend:
The Wizard of Oz at Bellmore Movies (222 Pettit Ave., Bellmore). On Saturday, join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman and the Cowardly in this hourlong performance, followed by a meet-and-greet with the cast. Price: $10.
Model Train Show at the United Methodist Church (265 Asbury Ave., Westbury). Check out trains and 12 operating model railroads, circus model displays and a LIRR/MTA T.R.A.C.K.S. unit on Saturday, March 1 from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Price: $5 adults, $1 children.
Hercules at BroadHollow Theatre Company (700 Hempstead Tpke., Elmont) on Sunday, March 2 at noon. This live performance of fun and fantasy is inspired by the mythological Greek hero known for his strength and adventures. Price: $12, $10 (in advance).
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at John W. Engeman Theater (250 Main St., Northport) Saturdays at 11 a.m. and Sundays at 10:30 a.m. through March 9. Kids can join Snow White, Dopey, Sneezy, Sleepy and the other dwarfs for this musical adaptation of the children's fairy tale. Price: $15.
