Weekend family fun on Long Island: Easter egg hunts, 'Dalmatians' and more
Looking for things to do with the kids this weekend? From the Easter egg hunts and breakfast with the Easter Bunny to "101 Dalmatians" and more, there's plenty of activities happening on Long Island. Here are my top five picks for family-friendly activities this weekend:
Eggstravaganza at Baldwin Park (Southern end of Grand Avenue, Baldwin). Hosted by the Baldwin Civic Association, kids can enjoy an egg hunt, sack races, face painting, a DJ, prizes and more on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Rain date is on Sunday. Price: Free.
'101 Dalmatians' at BroadHollow's BayWay Arts Center (265 E. Main St., East Islip). See a live performance featuring Cruella De Vil as she plots to steal Dalmatian puppies for her new fur coat on Saturday at 2 p.m. Price: $10 (in advance), $12 (at door).
Spring Egg Hunt at Belmont Lake State Park (Exit 38 off Southern State Parkway, North Babylon). On Saturday from noon to 2 p.m., kids can participate in egg hunts that occur every 15 minutes for different age groups. The event includes a petting zoo, temporary tattoos, pony rides and environmental crafts. Price: Free
Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at West Babylon Fire Department (126 Arnold Ave., West Babylon). On Sunday from 8 a.m.-noon, enjoy breakfast with the Easter Bunny that includes pancakes, sausage, coffee/tea and juice. Plus, pictures with the Easter Bunny and other activities. Price: $7, $4 children and free for children 3 and younger.
