Two bunny shows take the LI stage on Sunday
It’s not anywhere close to Easter, but two bunny-themed plays hit the stage on Long Island this weekend anyway. You’ll have to chose between the two of them, as they both go on during Sunday afternoon.
Life-sized puppets tell the story of “The Velveteen Rabbit,” by Margery Williams, at 1 p.m. Sunday at LIU Tilles Center, Route 25A, Brookville. It’s performed by the Enchantment Theatre Company with an original score. The show is recommended for ages 4 and older and is $14 or $22 a ticket. Call 516-299-3100 or visit tillescenter.org for more information.
And a floppy-eared bunny with mysterious habits stars in a spine-tingling musical called “Bunnicula” (think Dracula as a rabbit) at 2 p.m. Sunday at Landmark on Main Street, 232 Main St., Port Washington. The show is based on the children’s books by James and Deborah Howe and is $18 a ticket. Call 516-767-6444 or landmarkonmainstreet.org.
Don’t be surprised if you get home after the play and the little ones are asking for carrots with dinner!
