Toys R Us kicks off Toys for Tots campaign
It's that time of year again. There might still be Halloween candy in your kitchen and a turkey in your freezer, but the holiday season and the start of Toys R Us' annual Toys for Tots campaign are upon us.
The toy giant, along with celeb spokesman Shaquille O'Neil (going by the affable holiday nickname "Shaq-A-Claus"), is asking kids and parents everywhere to give the less fortunate a happier holiday season.
There are tons of ways to participate. Parents can go online and donate, or pick a toy to purchase from the campaign's wish list. Gifts purchased from the list will automatically be sent to Toys for Tots to help kids in need.
Kids can also get involved by drawing a picture of their favorite toy. Once it's done, parents just need to post a photo of their tot's artwork on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #NoWishTooBig. For every picture, Toys R Us will donate one toy to the Toys for Tots Foundation. Click here to download the special coloring sheet.
For those who want to give big, Toys R Us is also offering to donate $200 worth of toys for anyone who pays off a neighbor's layaway order.
